Italy: Berlusconi scandal puts parents on the spot, cardinal say

Italy's 74-year-old Prime Minister one more time is involved in a scandal, because of his recently intervention in the arrest of one of his 'personal friends', a 17-year-old girl who used to assist to his parties, where sex games were played and cash or gifts were given. Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi, the archbishop of Milan, acused Berlusconi of put parents in an awkward position. "The most serious problem is for parents who have to explain to their children the meaning behind the photos of kids their own age they see in newspapers", the archbishop said in an interview.

Again privacy and public sphere are in discussion. The issue here is that the Prime Minister's acts have a social impact because of its sexual and scandal nature. Some says that it's his personal life, but we don't have to forget that he is not just a common citizen, but the Prime Minister of Italy. Apparently his behavior will continue been an scandal to several religions and different parties all over the world, but due to his powerful position, there is not much that anyone can do about it, at least until new elections in Italy take place.

Argentine president makes tearful address about husband's death

Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner said she felt sorry for the death of her husband, who was former President Nestor Kirchner from 2003 to 2007, and thanked for the following support. Nestor Kirchner, had shared fellowship with her for 35 years, died of heart attack last week. The president thanked those who want to see him or pray for him, and that she has "to honor his memory and honor his government, which transformed and changed this country."

I think the president’s statements means a lot to her countrymen. First of all, the one who passed away was her husband. He had shared and had been her support for almost her entire political life. Besides, when he was in office, he had made great efforts to change the country he loved. The president was on his side, and she had been through so many difficulties with him. She must have a hard time getting through this. Last, but not limited to, the president should honor him who had done so much to his country. She should continue to truly do what her husband was doing, so that she will know her husband is always with her.

Britain denies Iran's claim of UK-linked terrorists

The Iranian government has arrested four terrorists that the Iranian government said are linked to UK.Tehran claims the arrests were made in the western city of Marivan and the suspects had carried out five assassinations in the last two years.According to the same source, the men were paid thousands of dollars for the killings and they were taking their orders from Jalil Fattahi, who lives in the United Kingdom and is one of the commanders of a Kurdish rebel faction, Komala.The United Kingdom denies Iran's claim.The British foreign office calls the allegations baseless."There is a long history of baseless Iranian allegations against the UK. This is just the latest," said the British Foreign Office.

This is a complicated issue where Iran is trying to accuse Western countries in order to clean itself.This situation is a game that some countries are playing around the world.They think that there is no "World Government" and they refuse to follow what some powerful countries are saying. In order to be able to justify their action, they are trying to discredit those powerful countries. The goal of Iran is to reduce British influence in the Middle East.Iran is trying to seduce other Middle East countries and to form a coalition against western countries in the region.The presence of western army bases in the area is not well-seen by Tehran.This is a geopolitical strategy that Iran is trying to implement by trying to control the region.

Authorities investigate mass grave in Mexico

Mexican government have investigated 10 bodies and expect to pull out more from a mass grave in village in Mexico.

There was speculation that these bodies were 20 Mexican tourists who were kidnapped from a bus in September.

It is said that drug cartel bosses order to bury the bodies.
However, some reporters and analysts said that it was too early to determine whether the kidnap victims and the bodies were the same. Also they have posited that the victims were not tourists but members of a drug cartel.

It is not apparent yet whether these bodies are those of tourists or of drug cartels, but in either way, this case is so weird.

Crimes in Mexico, especially in murder, are linked to drug in many case.

Drug is an easy and quick tool to get wealth, and it is almost impossible to get rid of crimes connected to drugs. Rather, it will become more and more gradually.

I have no idea about what to solve problems of drugs, but I hope these bodies are identified as soon as possible.

Japan has temporarily recalled its ambassador to Moscow, Russia's capital, in a move that threatens to deepen a diplomatic row between the two countries over a chain of disputed Pacific islands.

Relations between the nations soured after Dmitry Medvedev, Russia's president, visited the Kuril Islands, which were seized by Soviet troops at the end of the Second World War, on Monday.

Seiji Maehara, Japan's foreign minister, said Tuesday's decision to call back its ambassador was not intended to be antagonistic, but added that Tokyo wished to "make our position clear".

The dispute over the islands has coloured relations between Tokyo and Moscow since the end of the war, preventing the signing of a formal peace treaty.

"We have a territorial problem and that needs to be solved," Maehara said.

"But our basic policy of concluding a peace treaty with Russia and strengthening economic relations once that problem is settled remains unchanged."

My opinion
I agree what japan did in order to clarify the situation of japan regarding this island. Furthermore, disputed island should be belong to japan regardless the history of this island. Also, the visit of Russian Presidents looks so irritated to diplomacy between two these country. However, Russian may want to talk with Japan using hard way in order to express the Russian power to the world. Russia use this time specifically because the new prime minister,who is currently struggling with a divided parliament and fragile economy, has come under fire for what critics claim was his mishandling of a separate territorial dispute with China, and is under pressure to look firm on this occasion.

British decrease their alcohol consumption

Following the British beer and Pub association (BBPA), the British reduce from 6% their alcohol consumption in 2009 which the most important decline since 1948 (yes, 61 years). This decline might be a consequence of the increase of taxes on alcohol.

Nevertheless, following the national statistic office, 39% of men and 31% of women get over the reasonable limit of daily consumption which is 3 to 4 alcohol units* for men and 2 to 3 units for women.

*one alcohol unit corresponds to 10ml of ethyl (about 20ml of an alcohol drink)

This is, in all points, a good think because, knowing that the majority of accidents are caused by a abused of alcohol, this decline ,we hope,will decline the number of accidents. And because the state government increase the taxe on alcohol, even if their is less consumers, alcohol sellers and pub owners steel earning about the same benefit so... everybody win.

Chancellor Merkel Wants to Concrete Targets for the Integration of Immigrants (Posted by Nelson Salgado)

German chancellor Angela Merkel has expressed her desire to concretize government plans to integrate immigrants into the society. These declarations occurred in the frame of the "Inmigration Summit" held this morning in the capital of the Teutonic country.

Emphasizing how important is the fact that society should be more interested in integrating immigrants, chancellor Merkel remarked the efforts that national government has been doing efforts to improve immigrants situation in Germany. For instance, the so-called "Integration Courses" has been introduced since 2005, and it is estimated that by 2015, every immigrant will have the opportunity to join these courses.

Opposition leaders have cataloged this meeting as "merely symbolic" claiming that it will not change the reality for immigrants in Germany.

In my Opinion...

I consider that the fact of Germany is having now an inclusive politic toward immigrants is a good politic strategy. German authorities have realized what many other European governments have not yet: Immigrants are fundamental  for any industrialized country's economy, representing an important source of labor. It is smartest to educate them, to teach them the language and to make them feel part of the society rather than to treat them as delinquents, which is the case of several countries in both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. This also improves Chancellor Merkel's image among public opinion both within Germany and internationally. There is no doubt that other governments in Europe and the Americas should start to think about how to deal with their own migrant politics in a better way.
